Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 July 2026

1. Who We Are

The European Association of Business and Innovation Districts (EABID) is a non-profit association registered in Portugal. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, EABID is the data controller responsible for the personal data collected through this website (eabid.eu).

  • R. Filipe Folque, 10 J, 4º esquerdo, 1050-093 Lisboa, Portugal
  • NIPC 519.207.580
  • Contact: helloeabid.eu

2. What Data We Collect

We collect personal data only when you actively provide it, including:

  • Name, email address, and organisation — via our contact and membership enquiry forms
  • Country and number of attendees — via event RSVP forms
  • Cookie preferences — stored locally in your browser

We do not collect data passively (no analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising cookies) unless you have explicitly consented via the cookie banner.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data you provide solely to:

  • Respond to your enquiry or message
  • Process and confirm event registrations
  • Follow up on membership applications

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Legal Basis (GDPR)

Processing is based on your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) given when you submit a form and check the consent checkbox, and on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) in responding to reasonable enquiries from organisations.

5. Data Retention

Form submissions are retained in Netlify Forms for a maximum of 90 days, after which they are deleted. If a relationship is established (e.g. membership), we retain relevant contact information for the duration of that relationship.

6. Cookies

By default this website uses only essential functional cookies required for the site to operate. No analytics or advertising cookies are set until you give consent via the cookie banner.

If you consent to optional cookies, we use the following analytics services:

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) — measures how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device type). It sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_<id>. Data may be processed on Google servers.
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) — provides heatmaps and session recordings, which means it can capture a replay of your interactions with pages (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement) to help us understand usability. It sets cookies such as _clck and _clsk.

These services are loaded only after you accept optional cookies. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the "Cookie Consent Settings" link in the footer, which reopens the cookie banner. For the full list of cookies and how to manage them, see our Cookie Policy.

7. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction or deletion; object to or restrict processing; request data portability; and withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email helloeabid.eu. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Portugal this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), or the data protection authority in your country of residence.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by an updated "last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
